What is RoSCTL & RoDTEP Duty Credit scheme?
RODTEP & RoSCTL, Duty Credit Scrip Scheme, which stands for Rebate of State & Central Taxes and Levies, serves as a crucial export incentive
mechanism. Specifically tailored for the export of made-up articles and garments, it provides transferable duty credit
scrips based on the FOB value of the export. This initiative aims to alleviate the burden of state and central taxes and
levies, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Indian exporters in the global market.
RODTEP & RoSCTL, Duty Credit Scrip Scheme, or Remission of Duties and Taxes on Export Products, represents a significant stride in export facilitation.
Rolled out on January 1st, 2021, it replaces the erstwhile MEIS Duty Credit scheme with a more robust framework. The core objective
of RoDTEP is to enable exporters to reclaim embedded taxes and duties that were previously unrecoverable. By doing so,
it endeavors to stimulate export growth, addressing historical constraints and fortifying India's position as a
formidable player in international trade.
